Hello, my name is Sarah Paul. I attended the University of Northern Colorado where I received my degree in Elementary Education. I also have received my Early Childhood Professional Credential from Colorado Shines. I am from Aurora, CO. Born and raised here, I am proud to call Aurora my home. I have 4 children, 2 of whom have made their way all the way through Lyn Knoll elementary, and 2 who are still in school here. I love Lyn Knoll and it’s place in our community. I am an avid gardener, dog lover, musician, and a lover of all things crafty. Go Lyn Knoll Dragons!
Hello, I am Ms. Shea. This year will be my third year at Lyn Knoll as a preschool para. I was born in Colorado but I grew up in Minnesota. After graduating high school I had no clue what I wanted to do. With great relief I realized I was overthinking it and that it was actually right in front of me. I love helping people and working with kids. Working in education has allowed me to do both. When I am not at work I enjoy spending time with my boys ages 5 and 9. I also enjoy doing arts of all kinds, especially dance.
Hi everyone! My name is Brittany Germain. I went to college at the University of Northern Colorado where I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education (ages birth through 8). For the past few years I have taught Preschool, and this year I am starting a new journey as a Kindergarten teacher. Which by the way I am so excited about. I've been married for five years and have two children, a four year old son and one year old daughter. Things I enjoy doing when I’m not teaching are cooking, shopping, and practicing yoga. This year is something new for all of us but together we will make it great!
My Name is Tasha Hall, I am from Provo, Utah. I went to college at Utah Valley University where I studied Music Education, and Early Childhood Education. I met my husband there and we were married in 2011, then moved to Colorado in 2014. We have One son who is a student at Lyn Knoll. I enjoy being outside, if I could I would walk everywhere, I hate driving. I am a classically trained mezzo soprano. Family and children, and being with the people I love, is extremely important to me.
My name is Mrs. Madory and here is some information to help you get to know more about me. I was raised in Colorado. I have a degree in Psychology with a minor in Theater Arts from the University of Northern Colorado, and my teacher’s license is from Metro State College. I am a mom of 3 wonderful kids Molly 14, Carl 12, and Daniel 10. I love seeing them grow and learn from the interaction they have with the world around them. As a family, we like to go camping. We love to visit the country's National Parks. We have been to Sequoia National Park, Mt. Rushmore, and this year we saw Yellowstone National Park. I love reading murder mysteries, painting, and teaching. Connecting with young learners inspires me every day. I feel kindergartners learn best when they can play, socialize, explore, and create a positive relationship with me as their teacher. I am hopeful that this year I can be supportive of your needs and your student’s needs, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything for your student.
Hello, Lyn Knoll Community! My name is Natalie Dailey, and I am very excited to be teaching a fantastic class of 1st graders! I am from the small town of Brownstown, Indiana and I graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. We then moved to Denver for Target Corp., where I worked as an Executive for 12 years. Growing up in a family of educators, I knew I wanted to teach when my boys when they were born, so I completed my Master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Colorado-Denver. I have been in Education for 13 years in various roles, such as an Elementary Teacher, Preschool Teacher, Long-Term Sub, and Math Interventionist. I am a proud mother of two teenage boys, Logan and Ryan, and a dedicated wife to my husband, Shawn, of 23 years. I strive to make a difference by teaching tomorrow’s decision-makers and am fortunate to continue teaching for my 3rd year at Lyn Knoll Elementary.
I'm Koli Jamerson, this year I'm new to the Lyn Knoll Dragon family, I am so excited to be apart of this community. I am a proud Aurora native, I obtained my Master's Degree in Education through PEBC Boettcher Teacher Residency. This is my seventh year in the classroom, I love watching students grow and engage in learning.
I am a Colorado native who has been working with kids for 20 years. I live here in Aurora with my husband, daughter (who attends Lyn Knoll) and our big dog. In my free time I like to color, listen to music, read, and craft. This will be my 3rdyear at Lyn Knoll as a 1st Grade Paraprofessional. I look forward to getting to know everyone this year!
My name is Aliah Humphrey. I was born and raised in Aurora, Colorado. I love sports, reading, and spending time with my family! I graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. This is my first year at Lyn Knoll where I will be teaching 2nd grade. I am excited for this school year!
My name is Trey Sexson. I am a Colorado native and enjoy spending my time outdoors walking my dog, gardening, paddle boarding, and snowboarding.
I have a BS in Psychology and Criminal Justice, as well as an MA in Education. I received both degrees from Regis University in Denver, Colorado.
I have been a teacher for over 10 years. I was a teacher in Japan for 3 years, I worked in the Cherry Creek School District for a year, this is my eighth year working for the Aurora Public School District, and this will be my second year at Lyn Knoll.
Hello Dragon Families! My name is Christina Doyle and I am excited to be teaching 3rd grade. This school year will be my 16th year teaching at Lyn Knoll and my 19th year in education. I am a proud Aurora native and product of Aurora Public Schools. I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder. I also attended the University of Colorado at Denver to receive my teacher licensure. My husband and I live here, in Aurora, with our 4 boys. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, and going to the mountains.
My name is Alicia Sherman and I am the one of the third grade teachers here at Lyn Knoll. I have been lucky enough to teach at Lyn Knoll for 2 years with 6 years as a teacher! My first four years were spent in Denver Public Schools as a Drama/Technology teacher and a 5th grade teacher. I attended California State University, Fullerton and Trinity College in Carmathean, Wales for drama and my Teaching Credential. Born and raised in San Jose, California with two brothers, had me playing sports, Star Wars (always Princess Leia), and Barbies. Colorado has been my favorite place to live and hope to make it my forever home! I am a Disney and Harry Potter fanatic with a love of Starbucks!
My name is Aimee Vlcheck and I am originally from Purcellville, Virginia. I moved out to Colorado in 2014 to attend the Univeristy of Northern Colorado. In December 2019 I graduated with my BS in Audiology and Speech Language Sciences. During my studies I also got the opportunity to Intern in Walt Disney World 2 separate times. This will be my first year working at Lyn Knoll and I am very excited for this school year!
Greetings Lyn Knoll Family and Students, I’m Nick Anderson. I’ve been at Lyn Knoll for two years now, but I’ve lived in the community for six. I went to Metropolitan University of Denver where I got my bachelors degree in History with a teaching certificate. I was born in a small town in Minnesota called Rush City, and moved to Apache Junction in Arizona for middle school. Eventually, I moved with my parents to Colorado, and have been loving this beautiful state ever since. I have a dog named Sydney and enjoy sports like snowboarding and basketball. I love educating the community I live in!
My name is Jon Hyde. I recently moved to Colorado from South Dakota where I attended the University of South Dakota for Elementary and Early Childhood Education. I was born and raised in Upland, California with my mother and two younger sisters. I'm excited to be a role model for all students of color and to provide an opportunity for growth and development. I have two cats and I love reading, writing and playing tennis. I look forward to an exciting and influential year with all of our students!
Hello my name is Tonie Jones. When I first started teaching I knew I had found my passion. I have been teaching for 15 years ranging from 3rd to 7th grade. I’ve taught in Colorado nine years, The Middle East in Manama, Bahrain two years, and in Louisiana four years. Traveling exhilarates and rejuvenates my soul. Some of the places I’ve enjoyed are India, Turkey, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Spain.
My name is Anne Mitchell and I am very excited to be teaching 5th grade math this year. I received a Masters in Education through Adams State as a Boettcher Scholar. I also have a Bachelor’s in International Business and a massage therapy license. I am originally from France, but have spent ⅔ of my life in Colorado. I have two children 11 and 13 and we are a military family. I love to spend time Skiing down a mountain or being in a body of water to either swim, surf or paddle board.
My name is Kathryn Newman and I am excited to be joining the Lyn Knoll team this year! I will be teaching 5th grade literacy. This will be my 12th year teaching and I’m proud to say it has all been in Aurora Public Schools. I am a Colorado native and I graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelors Degree in Human Development and Family Studies. I followed up with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Colorado Denver. I love spending time with my husband and two energetic dogs. I also enjoy reading, gardening, and crafting.
My name is Ms. Leigh Callahan. I graduated from UC at Colorado Springs with a B.A. in English Literature. After pursuing my Teaching Certificate at Regis University in Denver, I went on to earn my Master’s Degree there in Elementary Education. I am proud of my endorsement in ELA so that I can provide meaningful learning experiences for my ELL students. I have taught many different grade levels during my tenure here in APS, the last 9 of which I’ve been lucky enough to serve at Lyn Knoll. Currently, I am a Reading Interventionist supporting our Lyn Knoll students grades K through 5. I am a Colorado native and a proud dog mom to an illustrious and esteemed Pekingese dog. I love reading and writing and bring a passion for learning to my classroom.
Hello! I am Abby Cillo and this is my fourth year working at Lyn Knoll! This year I am transitioning from being a classroom teacher into two new roles; CLDE (Culturally and linguistically diverse educator) Teacher Leader/LE teacher, and a reading support interventionist. I have lived in Colorado for 13 years now and have been teaching preschool through fourth grade since then. This is my 8th year in Aurora Public Schools. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from both the University of Colorado at Denver and Metropolitan State College of Denver. I love spending as much time as I can with my bulldog, Charlie, paddle boarding, being in the mountains, and spending time with friends and family.
My name is Katherine Galvan. I am so excited to be back at Lyn Knoll for the 3rd year. I am a Colorado native and received my Bachelors degree from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. I received my Masters degree in Literacy from Walden University. I have taught around Denver and this will be my 5th year teaching in Aurora, and my 9th year teaching altogether. I am married, and a step-mother to a 10 year old. Last year, my husband and I had our daughter in December. We also have 2 dogs. They all keep me very busy!
Hi, my name is Sarah Pearlstein. I have a teaching credential in Elementary Education with endorsements in Special Education and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education. I am currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Teaching and Learning. This year will be my 15th in education! I’m a local Lyn Knoll community member and this will be my second year working at Lyn Knoll Elementary. My husband is Mr. Pearlstein, another teacher in the school. Together we have two children who will be Dragons in Kindergarten and 3rd grade this year. In our free time, my family enjoys being outdoors, either gardening or exploring natural places by hiking or riding bikes. We love animals and have 2 giant Goldendoodles, 3 cats and 7 chickens! It’s our dream to have a little urban homestead right here in Lyn Knoll. We are grateful for the opportunity to live and work in such an amazing neighborhood.
Hello, my name is Mrs. Thao. I am from Long Beach, CA but have been in Colorado since childhood. I enjoy volleyball, evening walks, and family game nights! I am a new mother to a sweet 10 month old daughter. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at CU Denver in 2015. This will be my fourth year at Lyn Knoll and I will be teaching ELD for our multilingual students. I look forward to supporting our students this school year. Go Dragons!
I'm Sheryl Zarnowiec, the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education Teacher Leader. My role is to support and advocate for multilingual students on their path to acquire English by working with their teachers, families and small groups. I graduated with a B.A. in Elementary Education at the University of Colorado at Denver and earned my Masters of Arts in Education in Linguistically Diverse Education at Regis University in Denver. I have lived in 7 states and the Phillipine Islands. I call Colorado home. My hobbies include: hiking, reading and playing with my grandchildren.
My name is Mrs. Goldscheid and I will be your music teacher this year! This will be my fourth year teaching here at Lyn Knoll and my 10th year of public school teaching overall. I have both a Bachelor degree (Northern Illinois University) and a Masters degree (University of Arizona) in Music Education and due to being a new mom, I am taking a break on finishing my Doctorate in Education (Florida State University) but hope to complete it by 2025. I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and a lot of my family still lives there. I love to visit them during the winter because I love the cold weather and all of the snow! I am a mom and have 2 little boys, love camping, traveling, reading, and of course, listening to or performing music. I am looking forward to a great year with all of you, one that is filled with new adventures and many magical, musical moments!
My name is Ashley Schindel. I am the P.E. teacher at Lyn Knoll. I am originally from Seattle, Washington but have called Colorado my home for the last 8 years. I received my Bachelors Degree from Northwest University in Children’s Ministries and my Masters Degree in Elementary Education and P.E. certification from Western State Colorado University. My love for P.E. comes from my passion of empowering kids. I have spent a lot of time working in the outdoor education industry where we help kids and adults understand their potential through adventure based learning. I love spending time with my family including my two goldendoodles, Bentley and Rainier. I enjoy the outdoors through activities including camping, sports, hiking and biking.
I am Matt Pearlstein, and I teach some of our exceptional students with special needs. I am working with 3rd grade through 5th grade this year, and it will be my 10th year as a Special Educator. I grew up in Los Angeles, but moved to Colorado 10 years ago to pursue a career in teaching. I received a General Education & Special Education Teaching Credential from California State University Sacramento. Before that, I met my wife and graduated from the University of California Davis with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and a minor in Music. Our family enjoys gardening, hiking, and supporting our wonderful neighborhood school!
My name is Miranda Tebeau and I am new to the district this year, coming all the way from Michigan. I hold a degree in Special Education with a certification in Learning Disabilities from Michigan State University. When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my dog and two cats, traveling, or scouting out my next hike.
I love supporting children and families as a school social worker. This is my first year at Lyn Knoll Elementary but my sixth in Aurora Public Schools. I’m originally from Texas but love calling Colorado home. My bachelor’s degree is from the University of Texas at San Antonio and I have a master’s degree in social work from the University of Denver. I’m also a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with specialized training in trauma and traumatic stress. In my free time I like to read or go on walks with my dog, a sweet little cocker spaniel, and I am working on getting better at playing the ukulele.
Hailing originally from Chicago, Illinois, I moved to Colorado with the Air Force after high school. I completed my bachelors in Fort Collins, Colorado, and moved to New York to work on a graduate degree. I completed a Masters and Certificate of Advanced Study in School Psychology and shortly after, completed my Ph.D. in Educational Psychology. Though I was trained as a school psychologist in New York, a preponderance of my work as a school psychologist lies in Colorado and Texas. A majority of my experience is in working in early childhood and elementary schools.
