Your child's academic success is our number one priority. Parent support and involvement is the key to achieving this goal. Next year we encourage you to get to know your child's teacher and create a line of communication. Please read all communication that is sent home and call if you have questions or concerns.

STUDENT DROP OFF AND PICK UP INFORMATION
Students are to be picked up and dropped off on 2nd Ave. There is to be no double parking at any time. Our expectation is that everyone is safe, polite and respectful when dropping off and picking up students at Lyn Knoll. Drivers that continue to abuse safety rules and/or are verbally abusive to staff will have their license plate number taken and a report will be made to the police. Thank you for helping keep our students safe.

Monday ** August 3 ** BACK-TO-SCHOOL NIGHT ** 5:30-7:00 p.m.
August 5 School begins for Grades 1 - 5. It will be a full day; breakfast and lunch will be served.
School Hours 8:15 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.
August 12 School begins for Kindergarten Students - 8:15 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.
(August 5, 6, 7 10, and 11 will be kindergarten screenings)

El éxito académico de su niño es nuestra prioridad numero un. El involucramiento familiar y el apoyo de los padres es la clave para llegar al objetivo del éxito de su niño. Para el próximo año mi recomendación es que conozca a la maestra de su hijo y de que se comunique con ella continuamente. Por favor lea toda la comunicación que se envía a la casa y llame si tiene preguntas.

El primer día de clases para los grados del 1ro al 5to es el 5 de Agosto, 2008 (vea el calendario). La lista de clases se estará mostrando en las puertas alrededor del edificio. Estaremos sirviendo desayunos a las 7:45 am. Las clases comenzaran a las 8:15 am. Y la salida será a las 2:45 pm. Todos los estudiantes deben de ser recogidos a esa hora. Por favor haga arreglos con su niño sobre donde se deben de encontrar al final del día. Es importante que tengamos los números de teléfono al corriente durante el año escolar.

CUANDO DEJE Y RECOJA A LOS ESTUDIANTES DE LA ESCUELA
Estas actividades se deben de hacer en la 2nda avenida. No se debe de estacionar en doble líneas en ningún momento. Nuestras expectaciones son que la seguridad debe de ser una prioridad, el respeto se debe de mantener en todo momento aquí en Lyn Knoll. Las personas que manejan y abusan de las reglas de seguridad o tienen abuso verbal con el personal de la escuela serán reportadas a la policía por el número de placas del auto que conduzcan. Gracias por ayudarnos a tener a los estudiantes seguros.

Tariq Hatchett-Young won 3rd Place in Multimedia Category in Aurora Public Schools 2nd Annual Technology Fair. Tariq wrote is own story and drew his own pictures and turned it into a movie.

Alexandra Flores also competed in the Multimedia Category and receives an Honorable Mention for her research movie project on monkeys.

Mr. Del Day finally received his Superintendent's Quarterly award on Thursday, September 10, 2009. Many staff members nominated him for his awesome contribution to our students in so many ways. Mr. Del keeps our building safe, shiny, and clean. He Also keeps our school running smoothly and talks to all of our students during their lunch time. Mr. Del works with our Student Council to keep our recycling program going. He always makes everyday a day to look forward to being at Lyn Knoll. He always hello to everyone and makes them feel special. Thank you again, MR. What does that mean to you? It means that your child will be let out from school at 11:00 am. Students can be picked up at the same places as usual. So make sure you make you plans ahead of time. Lunch WILL NOT be served to the students on these dates.

We became leaves on a tree that were talking to our friends, then falling on the ground and making new friends. Then they transported us in the sky and we became thunder and lighting playing games in the air. To finally becoming fuzzy raccoons on the prowl looking for our next meal and coming across humans.

SMSgt. Kelly Mazezka From ARPC read the famous book Cat In The Hat and HOP ON POP and her reading mesmerized our students and staff.

TSgt Debbie Hyatt entangled us in her reading of Green Eggs and Ham.

Ways you can help insure your child's success:

• have them get plenty of sleep
• good breakfast and dinner
• make sure they get to school on time
• help them get everything ready the night before so they are not rushed in the morning
• keep distractions to a minimum
• let them know that these test are important and they are to give it their best but they are not to stress out over them
• Keep communication open: ask how they are doing, listen to any concerns that they might have, console them so they know it will be ok
